Tools and Technology
PlaceMatters has long been known as the source for information about tools and technology that support public engagement and decision-making. We use existing technology and innovative new technology, often developed in our Decision Lab, to engage citizens online and face-to-face, and to help participants understand the impacts of their decisions. Integrated Scenario Planning
One of the keystones of informed decision-making is understanding the tradeoffs among various possible scenarios. PlaceMatters provides GIS and impact analysis services to create and assess alternative scenarios and communicate the impacts of these scenarios to stakeholders. Combined with clear communication of impacts, scenario planning leads to decisions that reflect robust data and stakholder priorities. PlaceMatters particularly focuses on holistic or integrated scenario planning, where ecological, economic, and social impacts are all assessed and clearly communicated.
